Members are working towards completing their 20th Anniversary Challenges, and some like Ashleigh, have enjoyed their challenge so much they are doing another one!

Ashleigh's first challenge was to swim 20 lengths, once a week for 20 weeks. She started this challenge on January 8th at Bulmershe Leisure Centre during the Wednesday Disability Swim session, and finished on the 28th May. Well done Ashleigh!
Her second 20th anniversary challenge is to do aqua aerobics for 20 weeks. This will be at her local pool at South Reading Leisure Centre in the evening, and each session is an hour. Her first challenge was on her own, this time she is going with a friend.

Ashleigh decided on a swimming challenge to try and get a bit fitter after Christmas. The disability swim sessions at Bulmershe Leisure Centre on a Wednesday were ideal. The session is quiet and very affordable. The worst bit about swimming is getting in, especially if the water is cold, but this wasn't a problem for Ashleigh, she was straight in, not minding if the water was cold.
Each swim took about 30 minutes, taking a breather if she needed to, and each week it got a little bit easier as she got a bit fitter. At the end of her challenge Ashleigh was rightly proud, happy and pleased.
Although Ashleigh has completed her swimming challenge it's not the end as she really loves swimming and will carry on. Swimming helps Ashleigh keep fit, focussed and helps with her mental health. It's fair to say she is a bit of a water baby. Congratulations on completing your challenge Ashleigh and good luck with the next one!
